2020 MTA Winter weekend
25-26th January
The MTA winter CPD weekend is back in all of it's glory next January (25th-26th) at
Glenmore Lodge, and we're already taking bookings!
This is a great weekend, packed full of winter based CPD workshops for members of the
Mountain Training Association; an ideal opportunity to develop, refresh and learn new skills, find out about working as a Winter Mountain Leader and meet like-minded members.
There are a range of workshops including an introduction to winter skills for those who are venturing out in winter for the first time, navigation and teaching winter skills for those working towards their Winter Mountain Leader or in need of a refresher and further training opportunities for qualification holders. All workshops are staffed by instructors who work at the National Centre or are leading experts in their field and the weekend will accrue
continued personal development (CPD) points (1 per day).
The weekend also includes evening talks on Avalanches, Winter navigation, and an update from John Cousins at Mountain Training.

"It was a very useful event, and the time was used to cram in a lot of material without overload. I did the Avalanche Awareness course on the 1st day (when there was no snow), and the Teaching winter skills session on the 2nd day (when there was too much snow!). The instructors ensured it was an informative and enjoyable event on both days. The evening sessions on the Saturday are always a good idea at Glenmore. Many thanks to MTA for arranging it all!" - Graeme Adkin
